Silk & Strings have been performing since January 2016 after spending 9 months assembling material, writing songs and being voiced coached. They are a Devon based duo. Playing both covers and their own material, they create an intimate audience connection using vocals and guitar (with occasional looper, drum machine, blues harp and percussion) woven in captivating arrangements. Highlights for 2017 included the release of their debut EP as well as performances at The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington and Hatherleigh Festival. While they are more than capable of using the drum machine and percussion to get people up on the dance floor at parties, they are particularly suited to intimate and special occasions. They have played Valentines night at the George Hotel in Hatherleigh for three years running having developed a quiet, acoustic, non-intrusive set. They are huge lovers of all types of music, particularly live and self penned music. They still play the local open mic circuit to meet up with other musicians and hear what they're up to.

Silk & Strings have been playing in our pub on several occasions, as dinner music on Valentine's evening, and in what we call lazy Sundays, a recipe of court yard, drinks, bbq and live music to make people have a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Both types of event are nicely done by Silk and Strings, having a repertoire that covers a variation of taste, fits perfectly for our type of venue, add to that, their vocal matches nicely and the use of instruments is subtle and adds to the ensemble. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.
