Sibel Demir

I started music in 2005 at Istanbul University State Conservatory Choral Singing Department. In 2009, I continued undergraduate education in the Opera Department of the same school. I took part in Borusan chorus ,Rezonans and Sirene Women choir as a soprano. While I continuing opera education, became interested in Jazz. In 2014, I started jazz vocal studies with Sibel Köse. My graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2015. I won the 46th Pulawy jazz workshop award at the Nardis jazz club vocal competition. In 2016. I took part in Fazıl Say Nazım Hikmet Oratorio in 2017. In 2018, I was entitled to take part in the Youth Concert organized by the Istanbul State Opera. As a result of the 14th Nardis jazz vocal competition, I took the stage at the Istanbul Jazz Festival. In 2019, I won the third prize in the 4th Baroque Style Song and Arias Singing Competition. I took part in the project that bridges two different music genres, "From Baroque to Jazz" with Nail Yavuzoğlu and Şenova Ülker. I gave a concert as a soloist with the Crr jazz orchestra conducted by Nail Yavuzoğlu. I performed as a vocal in jazz clubs such as Nardis jazz club, The Badau, Tamirane Sam's Bistro in Turkey. In July 2021 I moved to London and I started sing jazz as a duo in London firstly every Saturday at Cappucino Arts Cafe.After I performed jazz songs at Kibele, Hatch 77 restaurant, Urban food fest. I've been join the London Symphony chorus as a soprano in September 2021 conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and Simon Halsey.I joined jam session at Le Quecumbar and Signature Brew. I took part in Le Quecumbar with Laturi band. In October I got the chance to perform with the chorus at the Royal Opera House ballet project "The Dante". I took part as a Sibel Demir Quartet in British Kebab Awards and the SME4LABOUR gala dinners in October and November 2021 at Park Plaza Westminster Hotel. In December I took part in as a jazz quartet at The Old joinery and as a jazz duo at Walpole pub & kitchen. In January I sang with quartet band at Toulouse Lautrec stage and I took part in with London symphony Chorus at Barbican Anderson concert. I performed jazz at Cappadocia restaurant every Wednesday in February. In March I took part in at Barbican Center's 40th year concert with London Symphony chorus. By the way I've been continue piano , singing lessons and Performed turkish musics.
