Welsh mezzo-soprano Siân Davies is a versatile performer across opera, concert and choral repertoire. A recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Studies with Distinction, following both a Master of Music in Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (Distinction) and a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Music. Her studies were generously supported by the Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Opera Award, the Ryan Davies Memorial Award, the Annie Ridyard Scholarship, the Alice Orrell and A&N Kendall Award, and the Riga Heesom Award. Recent highlights include performing in the chorus at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, following her debut as a Young Artist at Buxton International Festival. Operatic roles include Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Adza (L'étoile), 5 in David Bicarregui's Capsule, Jo (Little Women), Bobylikha (The Snow Maiden), Véronique (Le docteur miracle), Elisetta (Il matrimonio segreto), and Dorabella (Così fan tutte). She has also appeared in chorus for productions of Nabucco, Madama Butterfly, Boris Godunov, Turandot, Macbeth and Ernani. An experienced concert soloist, Siân has performed works including Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Mass in C Major, Haydn's Missa in angustiis, Fauré's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer, Vivaldi's Magnificat RV611, and Bach cantatas. She has also performed at the BBC Proms in Ligeti's Requiem with the RNCM Chamber Choir and the Edvard Grieg Vokalensemble, and has collaborated with distinguished artists including Sir Stephen Hough. Alongside her performing career, Siân is a dedicated singing teacher, conductor and music educator with a passion for accessible, inclusive music-making. She is Musical Director of Vocal Sounds, Choir Director at Holy Innocents, Fallowfield, and has served as an Associate Choral Leader for the Diocese of Manchester in partnership with St Martin-in-the-Fields. Alongside her practical work in vocal pedagogy, her master's dissertation explored the impact of menopause on the singing voice, reflecting her commitment to evidence-informed teaching and supporting singers through every stage of vocal development. Her work across education, conducting and outreach demonstrates a passion for nurturing musicians of all ages and backgrounds.

This is a short review of my experience of Sians entertainment value. She sang at my Black tie Charity Dinner dance last year in front of an audience of 100 guests. Her choice of songs was exceptional and in line with the occasion, she engaged well with the audience with her delightful and mature voice. Sian is a very pleasant and approachable person with an easy-going personality. I have no hesitation in recommending Sian as a singer for any occasion. Margot Mather

I have been recognised for my expressive artistry, my energising stage presence and honest story-telling, bringing emotional depth, musical sensitivity and a compelling sense of connection to every performance.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed across a variety platforms, including: Royal Albert Hall Olavinlinna Buxton Opera House Royal Northern College of Music Bridgewater Hall St James and Emmanuel Churches across the UK as a soloist for choirs, including: Lancaster and District Choral Society, Gatley Choral Society, Glossop Choral Society, Castell Coch Choral Society

A career highlight was performing at the BBC Proms, alongside further international opera experience at Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland and performances with Buxton International Festival.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If your timings change after booking, please let me know as soon as possible and I’ll do my best to accommodate your new schedule. I understand that plans can change, and I’ll always work with you to find a suitable solution. For any significant changes, I may need to check my availability before confirming the new timing.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I don’t provide iPod or DJ services between sets. My focus is on delivering a live vocal performance, and I’m happy to discuss timings and repertoire to help create the right atmosphere for your event.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually only need a short amount of time to set up before performing. As I don’t require extensive equipment, setup is generally quick and straightforward. If a pianist is booked, or if the venue requires use of a PA system, I may need a little extra time to prepare. I’ll always discuss any requirements with you in advance.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I don’t have a fixed set list, as I prefer to personalise each performance. I have a wide knowledge of repertoire and will chat with you during booking to understand your preferences, the occasion, and any special requests. With enough notice, I’m also happy to learn new pieces to help create the perfect atmosphere for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring everything I need, including a speaker for backing tracks if required. As a classically trained singer, I don’t usually need a PA, but for very large or noisy venues I may need to use the venue’s system. I can also arrange a pianist for an additional fee—please ensure a piano is available.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, with enough notice I’m happy to learn specific pieces for your event. During the booking process, I’ll chat with you about your preferences so I can personalise the repertoire and create a set list that suits the occasion. I’ll always do my best to include meaningful songs or requests where possible.
