Born in Castleford in 1982, Scott currently lives in Leeds. On completing an MA in Organ performance with composition in 2005 from the University of Huddersfield he has held the post of Organist and Director of Music at Mirfield Parish Church. Alto lay clerk at Leeds Minster.
As both a professional church musician and practising artist, Scott’s work is created, based and expressed through the concept of ‘the performance’. That is: the act of creating a work with both obvious and un-obvious actions and consequences for the viewer/listener. Previous work has experimented with installation, text, multiples and photography with which to investigate ideas such as mortality and religion and their physical representation in contemporary society.
