Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If there's any timing changes do let me know so I can adjust.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can play some music between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

It takes me 30 minutes to an hour to set up.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

I'm happy for you to select which songs you would like.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring my own instruments and, if necessary, backing tracks/ mic/ effects unit/ mini portable amp. My mini portable amp's only suitable for a really small room or a small outdoor area with a few people, so I usually go through the DJ's setup or in house PA system.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

I can learn song requests before the event.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I'm adaptable, I have many unusual tunes in my repertoire as well as the usual repertoire. I usually play cool and understated but can be quirky and upfront if required.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

London venues including The Jazz Cafe, The O2, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse, The Scala, Hammersmith Apollo, Hackney Empire, The British Film Institute, Fabric, Barbican, Ocean, the V & A, The 100 Club, Ronnie Scott's, Ministry of Sound, and I was the first live musician to play the Miniscule of Sound...

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I mainly play with musicians from Africa and the African diaspora. I also like the 70's and 80's pop bands from England.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I played sax and flute with Big Youth and Daddy U-Roy at Rototom Sunsplash last year which was the biggest crowd ever, coming straight from a lovely gig in Liverpool the night before and no sleep. Yeah!
