Sarah Nail began her musical studies at the age of three before switching to cello at the age of six. She attended the world-renowned Interlochen Arts Academy and then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, where she studied with Steven Balderston of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Sarah was quite an active member of the arts community in Chicago, Illinois. She was a frequent member of The Chicago Composers Orchestra from 2016-2019. In addition to being a member of the CCO, she also taught underprivileged students cello within the Music for Kids program, in Chicago. She was also a student mentor for two years at the Scrolworks program in Birmingham, Alabama. Sarah has studied music in Italy, America, and the UK. She has also participated in studio recording projects as well as film score orchestras. Sarah attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied with Alison Wells. She has worked with the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ensemble, and Brodsky Quartet, as well as worked closely with principal musicians in Glasgow's top orchestras. Sarah is currently a member of the Nevis Ensemble.

Do you have different line-up options?

My line-up includes, but is not limited to solo cello. Upon request, duos, trios, quartets, etc can be provided for your event.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

There is a booking fee and cancellations will be available up until one week before the scheduled event. If any cancellations take place after that time, refunds will not be available.

How much time do you need to set up?

Set up usually takes place 1-1.5 hours before the event starts. This allows adequate time to make sure everything is in place for your event and to accommodate any changes that might need to take place.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My setlist is crafted from years of performance experience playing all genres of music. However, if you have any special requests, feel free to contact me about them and we can talk through to see what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring everything I need with me!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, if a song isn't included feel free to make a request! I am happy to include any song that will make your event even more memorable.
