Sarah began her career as an actress and musical theatre performer, landing roles in the national tour of Over the Rainbow where she performed alternately as Eva Cassidy and in the one-woman show Still Waiting for Everything. She quickly progressed to becoming one of the most sought after vocalists on the session circuit, recording jingles, audiobooks and covers, and on the live circuit with various function bands and as a soloist. For the last decade she has performed with her own vintage girl group The Rockabellas, as seen on BBC TV with Tim Minchin, Dawn French and Frank Skinner and as heard live on BBC Radio 2 with Jonathan Ross. Her career has seen her perform at private parties, weddings, corporate events, festivals and more at countless renowned venues both nationally and internationally, singing to royalty, politicians and even the Sultan of Brunei!

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

At the point of booking, I will ask you to confirm the overall event times but if you are not too sure of my exact set times at that point, don't worry, we can come back to that as the date approaches. Equally, if on the day the event itself is running a little late, I will be as flexible as possible to ensure everything runs smoothly!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Once my PA is set up, I am happy to play your choice of iPod music through the speakers to set the atmosphere for guests and to cover any of my performance breaks. Once I finish my final set, I will leave the music running for 15mins whilst I change and prepare to pack away. If you would like the music for longer at the end, an additional £25p/h is payable.

How much time do you need to set up?

I typically set up and sound check in half an hour to an hour. If you need me to be quicker just let me know and I'll do my best to ensure there is no disruption to your schedule!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My playlists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests have an amazing time, however I do welcome any suggestions and am happy to chat through the set to make sure you are happy with the selection of songs.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I am fully self contained, bringing with me all necessary PA equipment (PAT tested). All I will need from you is access to a double wall socket as close to the performance area as possible. Don't worry though, I also bring extension leads and tape!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If there is a song you don't see on my repertoire, I am happy to learn it if there is reasonable notice and if a suitable backing track can be sourced. It's always good to have new songs to perform!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Chilled out and laid back to lively toe tappers, my playlist covers it all! I am flexible, accommodating and approachable and will make sure you are 110% happy with both the entertainment and the service you get from me!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Too many to mention! Stand out venues are The Pigalle, Twinwood and Goodwood Festivals, The Ritz, The Grosvenor, on board Royal Caribbean, Holland & America and P&O cruises and singing for the Sultan of Brunei in Singapore!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Eva Cassidy, Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, Vera Lynn, Anne Shelton, Scott Bradlee's Post-Modern Jukebox, Caro Emerald, The Andrews Sisters

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Hyde Park's Diamond Jubilee Festival where I performed to 30,000 people!

Thank you for a fantastic gig on Friday evening, your voices and the show were outstanding and every single person in the room was so complementary about the whole event. You and your ladies were so professional, committed and enthusiastic on every level and I think it goes without saying that the evening was a huge success!

I have worked with The Rockabellas on two occasions, first a private event (my own wedding) and then as the headline act at a charity ball for the Portsmouth Guildhall. Sarah, who I always communicate with directly, is incredibly conscientious and professional. She is very hands on, ensuring I get the exact look and sound that befits the event. The band in general performs at a very high level. Their fabulous harmonies, ranging from retro classics to modern day anthems, create a luminous atmosphere with a vintage flair. Backstage their professionalism continues; they are quick to set up and sound check and they always have a smile on their faces! The perfect performers for any occasion, private, public or corporate.
