Music has played an important role in my life since I was a child. I grew up singing in church and choirs, which fulled my passion for performance and more significantly, for the connection that live music fosters between a singer and an audience.
Throughout my academic years, I was a Music Scholar who frequently performed as a soloist at concerts and music events. I also built a solid foundation in musical theatre, Starring as Rizzo in Grease. Musical theatre shaped my approach to performing today, teaching me the value of storytelling, confidence and stage presence, as well as having the ability to express emotion than simply singing the notes.
Along with my performance experience, I pursued formal vocal training throughout my career as a singer. I successfully completed ABRSM Grade 8 singing with Distinction and ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory, and I currently utilize the Speech Level Singing (SLS) approach. This has helped me establish a healthy, controlled and adaptable singing style, allowing me to alternate between intimate performances and more powerful vocal moments.
Since leaving school, I’ve continued to grow as a solo performer in London, performing at open mic nights and gigs, including an invited performance Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts and music events at ICMP London. These experiences have given me increased confidence in performing for various audiences and settings, as well as sharpened my ability to read a room and adapt my performance to connect with the audience.
My repertoire is primarily pop, with a soulful and emotional quality influenced by artists such as Anita Baker. I I perform because of the connection music creates. I love the storytelling within a song and the way emotion and meaning can be conveyed through my voice. I believe a great performance comes from understanding the story of a song and bringing it to life in a way that allows the audience to feel it too.
My focus is on weddings, corporate events, private functions, restaurants and hotels, where live music elevates the atmosphere and becomes an integral part of the guest experience. I enjoy the versatility of these settings, from creating an elegant and intimate atmosphere during a reception or dinner to delivering a more dynamic performance that becomes a memorable part of the occasion.
I bring my vocal training, musical theatre background and love of contemporary pop to create performances that are soulful and engaging. I understand that every event has its own atmosphere and purpose and I approach each performance with professionalism and a genuine commitment to complementing the occasion. I aim to deliver music that feels carefully considered and tailored to the moment.
My ultimate goal is to create performances that leave a lasting impression. Moments where music becomes more than just entertainment, but part of an experience that guests can connect with, enjoy and remember.
