Sandy started learning the violin and piano aged 8, later taking up the viola, and was performing regularly from an early age in the Southampton Youth Orchestras. After graduating with a first class music degree from the University of Nottingham, she moved to London to study violin performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under Diana Cummings. Her time in London has resulted in opportunities to perform in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall and Maida Vale studios, and to work alongside members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Sandy performs regularly with a range of ensembles including the Quendon Quartet, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Havering Concert Orchestra and SEDOS theatre company. Sandy is also passionate about music education and community projects: she started teaching violin in 2010 and gives regular performances for Music in Hospitals and Care.

It was a great privilege to work with the London Film Music Orchestra in 2018, leading to a performance of 3 works of mine at their Christmas concert. The young musicians are truly outstanding, and possibly better than some more experienced orchestras I have worked with! The girls behind the orchestra are supremely dedicated and were a delight to work with. I look forward to our next collaboration in 2020.

Do you have different line-up options?

I can play as a solo violinist or with backing tracks. I can also arrange an accompanist for an additional fee.

How much time do you need to set up?

I will always arrive at least half an hour before the start time

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! I will bring my instrument, and my own speaker if using backing tracks.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Absolutely! I want the event to be as special as it can be so I love taking requests, provided there's enough notice given.
