Mr. Marde Mehdiabad is a man of wide-ranging interests, musical and otherwise, who is currently active in both Bristol and London.
Mr. Marde Mehdiabad was first taught the violin at around the age of seven in school, moving onto the "electronic keyboard" a couple of years later. He was taught to play the organ (and sing) by a local organist in Romford from the age of twelve. Since then, he has held a number of positions as Organist and Choirmaster (or the equivalent) in both churches and Church guilds, as well as deputising around London and, more recently, Bristol. He was employed for some years as the Organist and Choirmaster of St. Chad's Church, Haggerston, a job he very much enjoyed, being pleased to add to the musical life of the parish by growing and diversifying the choir. He has a wide-ranging musical palate, having played the piano and sung in a couple of informal jazz bands and "music hall nights" as well as his more "serious" occupations. Having studied the organ with Colin Nicholson at St. Botolph's, Colchester, he is now taking advanced lessons with Jonathan D. R. Price at Christ Church, Bristol City, in whose choir he also sings alto and tenor as required. He is also currently the organ scholar at Wills Hall, University of Bristol, where he has had the distinction of starting-up under his own initiative the first regular programme of choral services that had taken place in some decades. In addition to his musical activities, Mr. Marde Mehdiabad is currently reading for a Classics degree at the University of Bristol.
