About Sambando

Based centrally in Leicester & happy to travel within a 100 mile radius, our samba percussionists bring energy and excitement to a wide variety of live events. We're a large band (typically 15-20 players) and we're very loud. We offer a set of up to 40 minutes and each of our pieces lasts 5-7 minutes. We're often booked to lead parades, to play at festivals or to draw a crowd for a launch. We perform indoors and outdoors (weather permitting); and can play static or in procession. As well as performing ourselves, we can teach you how to play samba music through our custom workshops which typically run for 10-20 participants and last 90-120 mins.

Sambando played with such enthusiasm and gave it their all at our lantern parade. They're a very friendly, professional band with great communication skills. I'd book them again in a heartbeat.

We thoroughly enjoyed playing for the lantern festival. A wonderful festive event, very professionally organised by Hannah and her team. Although we were one of a number of entertainments booked for the festival we were taken great care of, had our own chaperone throughout the evening and had a brilliant time. We look forward to playing again for the festival in the future.

No, sorry. Live percussion only.

How much time do you need to set up?

Yes we like to move and also lead processions of up to 1 mile.

We have a standard set. The exact choice of pieces depends on player availability.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We do not require PA or lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We usually play a standard set.
