“Samba Stones” : a dynamic and high energy reinterpretation of the work of the Rolling Stones with all the classic songs, seen through the lens of Brazilian drumming and popular music. Based around a core of carnival drummers and the nucleus of Europe's top Brazilian stage band "Viramundo", Samba Stones present carnival vibes, roots energy and full on samba rock grooves retelling the incredible lyrics, song writing and attitude of the one and only Rolling Stones. The songs of the Rolling Stones have been analysed, broken down and reconstructed according to Brazilian popular music, roots culture and traditional carnival vibes. Musical director Paul Rumbol, uniquely qualified for his task, has created an unparalleled lyrical and hip shaking reworking that will move everyone, within and without. Artistic director Sam Alexander (leader of many top Brazilian percussion groups) has harnessed the movement and energy of the drummers to frame these classic licks and hooks; the stunning voice and presence of Helena Martins, a Brazilian diva with a fabulous voice and perfect English, gives fresh attitude to the greatest Stones hits of all time; this is a skilled, diverse and creative group of performers that also includes multi talented UK born singer/percussionist Brian Taylor & Brazilian born percussionist & singer Xavier Osmir. Samba Stones are a pleasure to watch, to listen to and, of course, to dance and sing along with.

I saw Samba Stones play first time back in April at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle. I was so impressed with their energetic and high skilled performance of my favorite Rolling Stones songs in a super attractive Samba style that I took my whole family to catch their performance at the Rhythm Tree Festival in July, and they were absolutely incredible."

I was impressed with their energy and talent on stage. They were one of the best bands of the festival in Isle of Wight. I enjoyed it a lot!
