The trio of vocals, guitar and double bass creates a relaxed atmosphere for dinner or mingling, or dancing. Other line-ups are available to suit all moods, with piano, sax, trumpet and more. Their ability to bring the cool bossa nova sounds of the 1960's adds a touch of class to any drinks reception, or they can really get the party started with swinging classics from The Great American Songbook, or the high-energy sound of gypsy jazz. The Sam Carelse Trio has performed at several prestigious festivals and venues, including Love Supreme Jazz Festival, Brighton Fringe, Brighton Dome, The Royal Pavilion Brighton, The Grand, Brighton Hilton Metropole. We hired Sam Carelse Trio for our wedding ceremony and party, having enjoyed their performances around Brighton. I can not recommend them highly enough! Sam's beautiful voice, Jason's amazing guitar skills and Dan's double bass; fantastic! They provided all the music during our ceremony and also as a musical interlude in the vows themselves. Our wonderful trio then quickly packed up and headed to our reception venue to play again. Everyone loved the selection and commented on how talented they are. Sam Carelse Trio, you are all very special and you really were the cherry on the top of our wedding at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton. Love from Amanda and Giles x

My wife and I took a trip to Brighton to listen to Sam Carelse's band before asking them to play at our wedding. Lucky for us, they agreed. The band was absolutely perfect for the wedding venue with 90 guests. They created a very warm musical ambience which was enjoyed and appreciated by everyone. They are all skilled musicians who are at ease with each other, and Sam's voice is just something else, playfully controlled, delightfully interpretive of the wonderful numbers she chose to sing for us. Negotiating the gig with Sam was very straightforward, and Sam is a good communicator, and very friendly. They did a 6 hour car trip to get to us, which shows the level of commitment. I recommend them 100%.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line-up is as follows: Vocals, Guitar, Double Bass. We also have a duo option: Vocals, Guitar.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We can be flexible if timings change slightly - just let us know as soon as possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes - we can offer this service for free before and between our sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

For the duo or trio line-ups we usually set up 30 minutes before the performance time.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. We usually require approx. 6ft x 6ft space to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We have an authentic passion for jazz, swing and bossa nova and clients tell us that it comes across in our sound. Our singer has been likened to Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day and Blossom Dearie. Clients also love that we look like we're having fun - we are! - which means audiences have a great time too.
