Sam Carelse and Jason Henson - The Brighton Jazz Duo - performed wonderfully during our virtual jazz session last week! It was streamed live to all six of our care homes and our residents thoroughly enjoyed it! As did some of their relatives. They loved hearing all of their requests being sung and we all really appreciate the effort the duet put into learning the songs - one of which required Sam to sing in French! Amazing job 😊. It was such a boost for our residents to hear the shout-outs from their family and friends and birthday wishes! We can't wait for the next Live Jazz stream with them. Thanks again!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love to tell us that our music is ideal for mingling at parties, or for listening to over lunch.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed at many venues, including Brighton Dome, The Grand, Brighton Hilton Metropole, Love Supreme Jazz Festival, to name a few.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We love so many artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Django Reinhardt, George Benson, and Wes Montgomery, to name just a few!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Love Supreme Jazz Festival

Do you have different line-up options?

Our core lineup is guitar and vocals, however, we can expand the group size if you require and your budget allows. Popular choices include double bass, saxophone, and a second guitar, to name a few.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know, and we'll see what we can do.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can provide a very basic iPod playlist service using our PA, which is suitable for small to medium venues and best suited to background music. Due to the nature of the PA, we can only play mono tracks.

How much time do you need to set up?

We allow at least 15 minutes to set up, but usually, we can set up in less than 5.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No, we are not a roaming band. We require a power supply and an armless chair for the guitarist.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. Our PA is suitable for small to medium-sized venues.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
