The Salix Quartet formed in 2020 at the Royal Academy of Music. They were selected for the Frost Trust ASSET scheme where they studied with Doric Quartet violinists, Alex Redington and Ying Xue. Having recently performed at Petworth Festival, Goldsmith’s University and Christchurch, Isle of Dogs they will also appear in the upcoming Garrick Club concert series. Collaborators include pianist Michel Xie, violinist Yaoré Talibart and, at the RAM Composer in Residence series, horn player George Strivens in a performance of Eleanor Alberga’s ‘The Shining Gates of Morpheus’.

The Salix Quartet played beautifully, and as one, in deeply satisfying performances of Mozart's 21st and Mendelssohn's 6th string quartets. So homogenous was their music-making as a group, and so brilliant their individual playing, that it would be invidious to single out any particular member for comment. Hear them if you can!

The Salix Quartet was fantastic to work with, from helping us understand which music sheets worked and what we needed to make the ones which missed elements work as well as being very accomodating when our wedding bus delayed our arrival! Their playing of our wedding playlist which consisted of songs from video games, TV, anime and movies was performed to perfection and really made our first dance unforgettable. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and would highly recommend them to play at your function!
