About Saffron Strings

Award-winning string quartet!
String quartet
Kingsclere
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Every event for which we play is unique and we have a wealth of experience to help create the perfect background music especially for you. We also work with you to create a fully bespoke playlist for civil and church wedding ceremonies, and for civil partnership ceremonies. Members of the quartet studied at the Royal Academy of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and have played for orchestras as diverse as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera. We believe that live music adds a little extra sparkle to the occasion whether your special event is held in a castle, a country house hotel, or a marquee. We have a vast repertoire for string quartet ranging from classical favourites, through TV/film themes and jazz standards to a sparkling collection of contemporary classics and recent chart material. If your favourite piece of music is not on our repertoire list we can often have an arrangement made specially since almost any music can be arranged for quartet. We're delighted that our expertise in music for weddings has been recognised with awards from Guides for Brides, Bridebook, and The Wedding Industry Awards. We are founder members of the Association of British Wedding Businesses.

Saffron Strings is a string quartet consisting of two violins, viola and cello. We are also available as a trio or duo.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually arrive at the venue 45 minutes before we're due to play so that we can set up and liaise with the venue staff.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, we're happy to draw up a playlist just for you.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring our own instruments to play acoustically.

Martyn and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for your beautiful playing on Saturday. We genuinely couldn't have asked for anything more. The sound of the strings in that room was perfection. Many of our guests also commented on how wonderful you were. Thank you again!
