Ryan Walvin

I lived in a little town called Eastbourne (near Brighton) for my entire life up until 2015 when I moved to London. It was great growing up in Eastbourne, there was enough going on that it didn't feel like a village, but quiet enough to get to sleep! I never really had a passion in my younger years, all I knew is I liked food! That eventually led me to want to cook and bake a lot, which by the age of 12, led me to wanting to be a chef! After cooking and baking for a while, I realised, although I liked it, it wasn't my passion. Some months later, my family started tuning in to X Factor, which caught my attention. A year on from this was when Matt Cardle appeared on the show. I took a strong interest in him from the beginning as his falsetto sounded amazing! I found myself starting to learn the songs that he sang and even sing to them myself. The high notes weren't too much of a struggle at this stage as I was still only about 14. Soon after this I wanted to start learning an instrument. Obviously guitar first came to mind as it seemed to fit best with my style of singing. This is when I started guitar lessons from one of my older brother's friends. He was an extremely good teacher and was exactly what I needed to start off playing. After about a year, I continued learning guitar on my own. When I started listening to Ed Sheeran was when I really started to love playing guitar and singing. His style just really seemed to fit into what I liked listening to. I attended college in Eastbourne but unfortunately was still unsure what was the right path for me, and ended up picking subjects that I really wasn't interested in. 2 years and no A levels later, I decided to moved to North London to live with my dad and work on my music and really find my sound. A year on from then brings us to now, where all I want to do is write songs and share them with the world. And hopefully, given time, lots of people will hear what I have to offer.
