Ruth was excellent, everyone loved her music and she was very personable chatting to my family and even letting the kids have a go of her harp!! My parents enjoyed her performance so much that they are planning to go and watch her again. Ruth played at our wedding and was absolutely brilliant - both on the day and in the run up - including helping us to select various songs for the ceremony and even learning some new compositions specifically for us. She was also really easy to work with throughout - flexible on timings etc. Would 100% recommend.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I perform at venues predominantly across the North East Midlands and Cambridgeshire including stately homes, churches and more intimate settings of gardens and restaurants. Bookings are also possible further afield across the UK. Churches, estates, historic sites or village halls - indoor or outdoor - the harp is a wonderful addition to an event.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I mostly create my own arrangements for music for weddings and events - I’m inspired by such a wide range of artists from pop to folk and classical, so creating my own arrangements for harp for these, as well as classical transcriptions of favourites is a joy.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

You might notice me performing on an American TV series currently streaming on Peacock and NBC! For hospitality events, especially weddings, every single ceremony/reception is unique and a privilege to play. As a solo concert performer, I’m most looking forward to performing my recital at the World Harp Congress in 2022 - it’s a very significant event!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always try my best to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. Please let me know as soon as possible if there is a slight change to your predicted timings.

How much time do you need to set up?

For most settings, I arrive one hour before the start time to allow ample time for setting up.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Absolutely - The transport of my harp is included in my quoted travel expenses.

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

I love playing for outdoor events! I’ll need a solid, flat, level surface to set up on. If you’d like to go ahead with an outdoor setup during light rain or showers, I’d just need a gazebo or similar cover to keep both me and the harp protected from the elements. A power socket is useful for amplification, but I can use battery power if not!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes! You can choose how much input you would enjoy in the process of selecting the music. Some choose every song/piece, and others entrust me to craft a bespoke playlist custom-made to them based on some helpful prompts.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes! For weddings, I include four bespoke custom requests in my packages. If you'd like additional requests outside of my current repertoire, or you're enquiring about a different event/service and would like a quote including custom requests, please just get in touch!
