Russell is currently working as a full time Peripatetic Teacher in West London, teaching Singing and Piano for Hounslow and Kingston Music Services. He has achieved grade 8 standard in these instruments. Russell is the founder and the director of “On That Note”, organising gigs and creating arrangements for the group. On That Note performances are in a 4-part A Cappella harmonies and incorporate Beatboxing. The group has wide-ranging repertoire from Doo-Wop to Hip-Hop and Disney. The group have been a box-office success in West Sussex, London and Devon. On That Note have performed in a variety of functions including Birthday Parties, Festivals and Weddings. In March 2014 the group performed at the regional premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier at Chichester Cineworld. Russell performed professionally as an operatic singer with City Wall Productions in productions of Acis and Galatea (Handel) in West Sussex. He has performed in many different musicals and operas with leading roles including Les Miserables (Enjolras), Tarzan (Terk), Blues Brothers (Cab Calloway), Pirates of Penzance twice (Major General and Frederick) and Gondoliers (Luiz). Russell has worked as an Assistant Musical Director for two productions “Rent” and “Les Miserables”. In June 2014, Russell went on choir tour to Rome with Chichester University Chamber Choir, singing Mass in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
