Rowan Jones

Rowan Jones is a London-based clarinettist performing across orchestral, chamber and contemporary music settings throughout the UK and Europe. She has worked with orchestras and companies including English National Opera, the Orchestra of Opera North, Wild Arts, Orpheus Sinfonia, Orion Orchestra, Shadwell Opera, London Firebird Orchestra and Brixton Chamber Orchestra. She maintains an active chamber music profile, performing with ensembles including the Britten Pears Contemporary Ensemble, Mad Song Ensemble, Tangram Collective, Echo Ensemble and Sylva Winds. Recent and upcoming festival appearances include the Aldeburgh Festival and Presteigne Festival. A committed performer of new music, Rowan was selected as a Britten Pears Young Artist and previously held the clarinet place on the London Sinfonietta Academy. She has collaborated with composers and ensembles through projects at the Royal College of Music, Totally Thames Festival and Darmstädt Ferienkurse. Rowan is also an experienced recording musician, having worked on studio projects with a range of ensembles and orchestras. She has recorded at major London venues including Abbey Road Studios and contributed to commercial releases and digital music projects. She studied at both the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, graduating with First Class Honours and a Master’s degree. Alongside performance, Rowan has contributed to education and outreach projects with organisations including HMDT Music, London Sinfonietta, Britten Pears Arts, Tri-Borough Music Hub, RCM ‘Sparks’, Music House for Children and is currently participating in Spitalfields Skills Lab Academy.
