I’m Ross Leadbeater - a professional pianist, singer, musical director and entertainer, better known as Ross “The Piano Man”. For me, performing music has never simply been about playing the right notes. It’s about creating an atmosphere, connecting with people and making sure that everyone in the room has a moment they’ll remember. My love of music started at an early age and grew into a career that has taken me from some of the UK’s biggest stages to intimate private celebrations and events around the world. I trained at Trinity College of Music, developing the classical foundations, musical discipline and versatility that have become such an important part of my career. Since then, I’ve built a reputation as a musician who can move effortlessly between styles – from timeless classics and modern chart favourites to musical theatre, country, soft rock and everything in between. One of the defining moments of my career came as a member of Only Men Aloud. As part of the award-winning Welsh vocal group, I performed on some incredible stages and enjoyed experiences that most musicians can only dream of. These included winning the Classical BRIT Award for Album of the Year and performing for huge audiences across the UK and internationally. My career has also given me the privilege of performing alongside and supporting some extraordinary artists, including Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban and Bonnie Tyler, as well as appearing on major television and live events including the Royal Variety Performance and BBC programmes. I’ve performed in the West End, toured internationally and worked across a huge range of musical productions and events – experiences that have taught me not only how to perform, but how to read a room and give an audience exactly what it needs. That experience is at the heart of 'The Piano Man'. I’m not interested in simply turning up, playing a set list and going home. Every event is different, and I love adapting what I do to suit the occasion. Whether I’m providing sophisticated background music during dinner, getting a room full of guests singing along to their favourite songs, or taking centre stage and turning the piano into the focal point of the evening, my aim is always the same: to make the music feel effortless, exciting and personal. I pride myself on being approachable, professional and completely committed to making every performance special. I bring the musicianship and experience you would expect from a career professional, but with the personality, humour and spontaneity that make a live performance memorable. Ultimately, I perform because I love what music can do. A great song can change the mood of a room in seconds, bring people together and create memories that last long after the final note. That’s what makes being The Piano Man so rewarding - and that’s exactly what I want to bring to your live event.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I don't provide this service but very happy to work with the venue/organiser to help facilitate this request.

How much time do you need to set up?

1hour assuming the piano/keyboard and PA is already at the venue.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

I only do gigs where there is a piano and PA already at the venue. I would hope the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to play on it!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Very happy to chat through in advance of the event what is required. And yes, I take piano requests from a wide range of repertoire.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

No sorry. I only perform at venues/events where there is already a suitable piano or keyboard and a PA system.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes I can and I have a broad repertoire of songs from across the decades and different styles and genres.
