Rosie Turton is a London based trombonist and composer. A recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (TCM Trust Scholar 2011-2012), where she studied with Mark Bassey, Malcolm Earle-Smith, Jean Toussaint, Julan Siegel and Issie Barratt. An active musician on the London music scene, Rosie is involved in a variety of bands such as Nerija (nominated for Jazzfm Breakthrough Act 2016), Mimika (winners of the Love Supreme Discovery Competition 2014), Dojo, SE Dub Collective, Lady Vendredi and Op Sa! Balkan Band.
As a composer, currently Rosie writes for Nerija and her own projects. In 2012 she was commissioned by Sound and Music to write a piece of music for their event '20x12' at The Southbank Centre. In 2015 she was commissioned by Shiva Nova to compose a piece of music influenced by Jazz and Indian Classical music, performed at Kings Place October 2015.
