Customer questions
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
No problem. Just let me know your timings and I will try to fit around you as best I can!
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Yes! I quite often run a laptop DJ service in before and in between my sets. If you'd like me to stay on after my last set and DJ, it's an additional £150. I can tailor the DJ music to suit your preferences and if you send me a list of songs you'd like, or a playlist, I can sort those for you.
How much time do you need to set up?
Usually around an hour provided the load in point to the venue us near where I'm playing. If the load in point at the venue is further away from where I'm playing, it may take a little longer.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Yes, definitely. If there's something from my repertoire that you'd like to hear at your event, just let me know!
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes! My standard set up includes a PA suitable for up to 80 guests. If you have more than 80 guests this can be upgraded to a PA to suit up to 300 guests for an additional fee of £200. This includes bringing our sound engineer so that the sound is spot on for your event.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
Absolutely. Just let me know what you'd like.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
My voice. I know that sounds a bit weird! But that's what most clients tell me they love about my performance.
I connect with the music in an emotional way, I don't just sing it, I perform it and that comes through in my sound. I know that sounds a bit arty farty but it's true.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I have performed in a LOT of venues over the years! Wedding venues, venues for corporate parties and private events. On boats, in barns, in fields, in kitchens and courtyards. In theatres, clubs, pubs and restaurants...
The best venue I've played though is the 100 Club, for it's legacy - some of the most prestigious artists in the world have played there!
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
I grew up on a mixture of Blues music (from my Dad), Pop music (from my Mum) and Musical Theatre (from my Grandma). So to name a few... Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steeley Dan, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Smokey Robinson and The Stones. The Spice Girls, George Michael, Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, Beverley Knight, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and Pink.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
I played at the Canary Wharf Summer Sessions one year, on the green in the middle of Canary wharf. I was part of an acoustic duo and we were on the biggest stage we'd ever played, playing to 2000 odd people sitting on the grass, on their lunch break. Mad.
