Rosalind is a versatile and imaginative flute player. She was exposed to the joys of music through her local music service and has never looked back. A music graduate of the University of Cambridge, Rosalind is now undertaking postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music, learning with Laura Jellicoe and Paul Edmund Davies. She is very grateful to ABRSM for supporting her in her postgraduate studies.   Rosalind has performed extensively in Cambridge, and was principal flautist of both the Cambridge University Musical Society's Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra during her undergraduate years. Guest artists she has worked under include Nicholas Collon, Peter Donohoe, Paul Daniel, Richard Farnes, David Hill and Natalia Luis-Bassa. She was also a winner of the annual concerto competition, resulting in a performance of Ibert’s Flute Concerto with Gerry Cornelius and the Chamber Orchestra in February 2016. As a soloist, she has also performed with the Cambridge University Wind Orchestra.   Through a passionate advocacy of contemporary music, Rosalind has performed with the Britten Sinfonia and the Cambridge New Music Ensemble, and has premiered a number of new works including at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival, London and as part of Aldeburgh Music. She especially enjoys collaboration and working with composers, and was fortunate enough to work with Sir Harrison Birtwistle, playing as part of the 2014 Cambridge festival celebrating his life and work. Rosalind has more recently surrendered to the wiles of early music, and is studying the baroque flute with Stephen Preston.   Rosalind is deeply committed to musical outreach and has been involved with many projects for a number of years. This has included work with children and young people with special needs, and in prisons, seeing the power of music uniting people and breaking down barriers. She is also a committed instrumental teacher, and wants to inspire young people to love music as much as she does.
