About Romana

Hi there, I'm a cellist... My vision is to share my joy & passion for music with you and people of all kinds!
Cellist
Zürich, Switzerland

A Swiss-German cellist, Romana Kaiser was born in Zurich in 1990 and received her first cello lesson at the age of eight. Her extraordinary receptiveness and the natural relation to the cello had been early noticed by her first teachers Kurt Hess and Nancy Chumachenco. Romana has studied at Zurich University of the Arts and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, learning from Susanne Basler, Thomas Grossenbacher and Richard Lester. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Pedagogy as well as Music Performance. As a passionate and experienced chamber musician Romana gave her debut at the Barbican Hall in London in January 2014 performing a sextet by contemporary British composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. In June 2015 Romana was selected for the Chamber Orchestra of Europe's academy scheme and joined the orchestra on tour to the international Lucerne Festival. The last season 2015/16 she played with the CIVIC Orchestra of Chicago and the CIVIC Engagement Ensemble. Currently Romana is based in Zürich, Switzerland.
