I am an experienced guitarist having played at venues large and small. I play at weddings, bars and restaurants, aiming always to create a beautiful and romantic ambience with my music. I play renditions of classical, spanish/latin, jazz and modern pop arrangements. I love to improvise (e.g. over a flamenco-style backing) and am very happy to take requests. I sometimes use a loop pedal to help facilitate improvisation. Though based in Manchester I have played in the Midlands and as far afield as Ireland! I am very happy to travel to play for weddings and other special occasions.

Roger was just a delight, brilliant communication from start to finish. Arrived on time and set up so discreetly, played beautiful music throughout my 40th party and was just a genuinely lovely man. Wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. A brilliantly talented musician.

Roger was excellent in every possible way. He literally played a part in what we can only describe as one of the happiest and special days of our lives. He even went to the effort of learning Rita Ora's Anywhere which was playing when Vic proposed to me. He was charming as well as being incredibly talented. We hope to have reason to invite back to a future occasion. Thank you so much Roger! Jo & Vic x x

Simply outstanding and beautiful music performed, which was so very much appreciated by all. We were so very impressed and so happy with your beautiful guitar performance Roger. Thank you for such an accomplished and thoughtful performance at Askham Hall Barn for the wedding ceremony and on the lawn of Askham Hall for the drinks reception. All the guests commented on the lovely guitar music and the selected arrangements. Best wishes and thank you so very much for the outstanding beautiful music and a thorough organised service and saving the day with your last minute availability. Kind regards, Michele, Ian, Juliane and Oliver.

We would like to say a huge thanks to Roger for playing during our ceremony and drinks reception at our wedding. The tone and feel was perfect for the occasion, with guests commenting it was one of their highlights of the day. The communication with Roger was prompt and easy and he obliged us to learn an arrangement of a favourite song of ours. We would recommend him to play at any event of our friends and family. Many thanks again.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. I did this at a recent wedding and offer this service for free - please note I have a small amplification system, but this can work well at small to medium venues.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up about 1 before the performance time. As soon as my amplification system is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set list is crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure I find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument, usually with small discreet amplification system.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it. If there is a special song you'd like me to learn I am happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The feedback I get is that my music sets a lovely backdrop to their event.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have played at many venues including weddings in England, Wales and Ireland: from small venues to large ones for example in function rooms at Manchester United's Old Trafford and Lancashire Cricket Club. Last year I played at a beautiful rooftop hotel terrace in central London and also a terrace overlooking the sea in a beautiful Welsh seaside village.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Many - including the Beatles of course. In terms of guitarist, Julian Bream, Baden Power de Aquino, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia, George Harrison - and many others.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I really don't rank my gigs in terms of importance - all are equally special from my point of view and I prepare equally for each one.
