I have been teaching singing from 2009 to ahes 15-70+ (I never asked!) Repertoire has varied from Lieder to opera to Jewish liturgical music to musicals but in the main the basic technique is identical. I teach one-to-one but have also taught several masterclasses, where I teach one person and then demonstrate issues arising to the whole group. I have taught students from professional standard to my proudest achievement, a 70+-year-old ex-engineering lecturer who turned up proclaiming he had never even sung in a choir at school but simply loved music. In 1 3/4 years of almost weekly hourly lessons he ended up singing an hour-long professional-style recital in 4 languages to a small audience of friends. I specialise in languages: I can coach in about 8 - and believe that singing is a great training for mind, body and well-being. It's great fun too!
