About Rob

A keen an enthusiastic horn player getting back to playing after an 18 years absence! I am 43. I am a RE and Philosophy teacher.
French Horn
Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

I have returned to playing the Horn after an 18 absence. I learnt under Chris Tilbury in Hertford and played for the Maltings Symphonia for which he is musical director. I also played for a local brass band, Ware Brass, as well as many youth orchestras and ensembles. I chose not to go as far as Grade 8 as my interests were elsewhere. I completed a BEd at Cheltenham & Gloucester College in 1995 where I played and completed solos and shows with the Music Society. I also played with Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra. Due to the rigours of teaching and family illness I did not play for 18 years! I have started playing again and have quickly started playing for two orchestras - Abbey Gateway Orchestra in St. Albans and Abbots Langley Orchestra - both are amateur orchestras in Hertfordshire. I currently play a Booster & Hawkes Imperial Silver Plated Horn I bought through Anthony Halstead.
