Robert Amey has taken part in many concerts I have organised. He is the personification of the phrase "distance is no object" having travelled from the east of England to Scotland, Devon and Somerset for these events. I can always rely on Rob to put on an amazing virtuosic display which will "wow" an audience. He's a pretty good jazz clarinet soloist too..

Rob is the organist for All Saints Mattishall and Musical Director of the Mattishall Community Choir. He plays organ and piano to a high level, is very committed and he role here is invaluable. He can play both traditional pieces and more contemporary, Christian and secular.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients and venues are generally very impressed by the quality and difficulty level of my classical piano performances. I have played with many different groups and ensembles which means clients and fellow musicians find me very flexible and very comfortable on in front of an audience.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have performed and conducted in many different venues throughout the country. more recently I have performed Keyboards at the Norfolk Show 2024 and in various classical concerts in churches in Devon and Norfolk.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I most enjoy the piano music of Chopin and Lizst. I am also very inspired by the great Jazz Pianists Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum and Bill Evans.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The most notable are: Conducting a massed Children's Primary Choir in Lincoln Cathedral in 2010 and Performing The Missa Solemnis in Bristol Clifton Cathedral. Recently I performed at the Royal Norfolk show and also at various local events celebrating the coronation of King Charles 111.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try to be as flexible as I can to allow your event to run as smoothly as possible. If timings change leading up to the event let me know and I will do my best to accommodate the changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I'm afraid I do not have the equipment or expertise to offer a DJ service, I am able to play some recordings of suitable music before and after my set, as I am setting up or packing away.

How much time do you need to set up?

I would normally need around 45 minutes to set up my keyboard and amplification.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes, of course - as long as the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to perform on it!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course. The first set of "Concert Repertoire Recently Performed" is a comprehensive list of the main pieces I have performed over the last ten years; some of these are very long and very complex! I would be more than happy to chat through the most suitable pieces for your event and play or find alternatives if you wish.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes absolutely, I have Nord Grand Keyboard with amplification. I can also play from battery power if required.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is a special song or piece you would like me to play I would normally be able to play this for you.
