ABOUT US The Rivals specialises in performing hits from over 60 years of Pop music that includes everything from end-of-the-night Rock & Indie Classics to Modern Pop. They offer much more than you might expect from a 4-piece band! Not only do they play the songs everyone wants to hear, but they also drop in the tunes that guests are afraid to ask for or don't think possible to perform when an all-male group starts to play. MEET THE BAND Ivano (vocals), Luca (guitar), Oliver (bass) & Russell (drums) have been playing in bands since their early teens and formed The Rivals. Since then the band have played across the UK for wedding parties, corporate clients and festival organisers. • SERVICES OFFERED We are a 4-piece live band, and we offer up to 2 hours of live music for any type of event. • WHERE CAN WE TRAVEL TO? We have played all across the UK, from Sterling to Southampton and everywhere in between. We are based in London / Surrey and the distance we have to travel will affect your quote, but we always offer competitive rates. • WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE NEED? We have all our own, fully PAT-tested equipment, including PA, instruments. The only thing we need is two wall power sockets from which to run our extension cables. • CAN YOU LEARN SPECIFIC SONGS? Yes! We'll learn any song you want. Check out our song list. If you want us to play songs that aren't on there, just let us know. Make your request at least three weeks before your event and we will have your song ready for you. • DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE? Yes - we have full public liability insurance, covering all events and venues where we play. My partner and I knew we wanted live music at our wedding party but didn’t personally know of any musicians who would be able to help. Having searched for a band online, we came across The Rival Kings, a four piece whose repertoire matched our taste of classic rock and party music. We made an enquiry which Russell, a member of the band, answered promptly, and our decision was made……. What a great decision that turned out to be! In the lead up to the party, Russell was in touch to establish and plan for any of our requirements, and he liaised directly with the venue, making everything hassle free for me. On the evening of the party we arrived at the venue to find the band had already completed set up and sound check, and were on hand should we have needed them at any time before the pre agreed set times. Once the band started playing, the dance floor remained full all evening. They knew what the crowd wanted and absolutely delivered. A perfect blend of genres across the ages. The band played 3 x 45 min sets and even played a playlist through their PA system during their breaks. I would 100% recommend The Rival Kings to anybody looking for live music, and I would certainly book them again should I arrange another big party. Dean Leow

"I am so glad I booked the Rival Kings for our wedding on the Lightship at Haslar Marina. I wanted a band who really know how to play their instruments and love what they do. And this is what we had. The music and playlist were perfect and all our guests danced all night. The dance floor filled from the first note played. The acoustic set was lovely and provided a beautiful accompaniment to our celebration toast following the ceremony. I was so excited about the music and the dancing and the evening far exceeded my expectations. Our pub club group are trying to find a good excuse to book the Rival Kings again. It won’t take us long to find a reason to party."

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients most love our punctuality, professionalism and amazing sounding performances!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

As a band, we have performed at private parties around the country. Individually as musicians we have performed in some amazing venues, including White Rock Theatre, Hastings, G-Live Guildford, Dublin Castle, Camden, The Hope and Ruin, Brighton

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We have a great variety of influences between us. Everything from Duke Ellington, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Ed Sheeran.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Yes, we strive to make sure the line up is the same as you see in the videos. The lead singer will always be the same. We do have pre auditioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a professional band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our main line up is as follows : Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drums.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA during the band breaks, we provide this for an additional £150

How much time do you need to set up?

We like to drive at the venue around 3 hours before the guests arrive. This gives us time to set the band equipment up and have a sound check before people arrive. We are also happy to provide playlists through our PA to get your guests ready to the live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All equipment is included in the quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you, providing enough time is given.
