Customer questions

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My influences as a pianist include Ray Charles, Bill Evans, Elton John, Bruce Hornsby and Little Richard. My vocals are frequently compared to a young Paul McCartney.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I can provide pre-recorded music to play between my sets to run through my or your PA system at no extra cost

How much time do you need to set up?

If I am bringing my own PA and equipment I like to allow a 45 minute set-up time. If you require a faster set up time, we can discuss your requirements in our initial consultation.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes, I would be delighted to use your piano provided it is in tune and in good working order. During these times of Coronavirus, I request that you ensure it is thoroughly cleaned before I use it or confirm that you are happy for me to clean it prior to me playing.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, I play all the songs on my set list regularly so if there are any in particular you would like me to play, just let me know. I am also happy to learn up to three new songs not on my playlist to perform at your event provided you give me at least 3 weeks notice.

Richard was very good, set up without any fuss whilst I was busy welcoming guests. All my guests commented very positively and enjoyed the background music. I would recommend Richard to anyone who likes blues jazz and soul.

We booked Richard for a party at home to celebrate a joint 50th/21st for Mother & daughter ! From the initial booking, Richard made contact and we had a chat nearer the event about the play list, which he was more than happy to oblige with. He even learnt one of my favourite Billy Joel songs ! The night was a great success with all generations singing and bopping the night away to his skilled piano playing and singing ! It was something different to bring to a party at home and everybody loved him. Thanks Richard, Best Wishes, Stuart, Rachael & Maddie.

Richard is a class act and we were delighted by his performance at our wedding reception - his extensive jazz repertoire provided exactly the atmosphere we were looking for, and our guests loved it. Richard was great to work work, always responsive, providing helpful advice, and meeting all of our requests. We'd be very happy to book him again.

Richard played at my wedding and was absolutely excellent. He was very easy to communicate with in the run up to the service, liaised with singers that I had arranged separately, helped them with their practicing and then played beautifully on the day, firstly while guests were waiting and then during the service. I couldn't recommend him more highly.
