Richard has been working with the Arts Barge Community band, Bargestra, at weekly rehearsals. He is a very strong player and creative soloist, so is inspiring to the other players simply by taking part. Richard plays a very active role in assisting me as director. He takes sectional rehearsals and demonstrates phrasing and soloing ideas to the group. He has a very clear manner of explaining ideas to others and is always great company at the sessions.

Richard's enthusiasm and dedication was clearly reflected in the high-quality performance that he gave during Stainer's "Crucifixion"; the fact that he appeared to know his part inside out was clearly a result of hard work and his love for the music.
