Red Madog

I spent many hours looking at different live bands/artists as I was very keen to have live music at our wedding. We witnessed Red Madog perform at a wedding several months prior to our own wedding and we immediately felt like we had found exactly what we were after: extremely talented musicians, beautiful singers and lively music which guaranteed that people would just get up, dance and enjoy themselves. We made an enquiry and Jack (the lead vocalist and musician) got back to us straight away to tell us that the band would be available for our wedding day. The price quoted was extremely reasonable. Weddings are stressful but once Red Madog were on board, we genuinely felt like we could leave the music entirely in their hands and trust them to ensure all was sorted. They were extremely organised from the outset and clearly place high importance on preparation. They arrived early and set up themselves prior to our guests arriving. Jack asked about a preference for our first dance and we requested that the band to perform "You Belong to Me" (Jo Stafford). Quite frankly, we will remember their breathtakingly beautiful interpretation of "You Belong to Me" for the rest of our lives. After our first dance they performed two sets and had our guests up and dancing immediately! Their blend of traditional folk music and popular classics made everyone smile and want to get up on their feet. I lost count of the number of guests who told us how amazing the music was but they didn't need to tell me because it was very clear how much our guests were enjoying themselves on the evening. They are able to perform such a varied range of pieces/songs, some of which comprised their own music (which was particularly special). We felt really privileged to have this group of supremely talented musicians and vocalists performing at our wedding. We would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who wants excellent quality music that doesn't follow the usual wedding repertoire. And on top of all this, Red Madog is comprised of just very lovely people. We very much look forward to watching you again at a gig. Thank you so much for making our wedding so special.

When we approached Red Madog about playing our wedding, Jack was friendly and professional, and clearly explained what was possible and what different options were available. After deciding to book, everything was easy. They had all the sound equipment arranged and they were there in very good time on the day to setup – which helped put us at ease with so much else going on! After discussing what flavour of music we were after, they put together a really nice set list, including some all-time favourites of ours. Red Madog even learnt a song that I had long wanted for my first dance, which was incredibly special. Our wedding was during covid times, so we didn't plan for any dancing. Nevertheless, our guests had a great time listening as we had hoped, but when Red Madog played whiskey in the jar at the end, the energy just went through the roof, and everyone couldn’t help themselves and rushed up for a dance – it was amazing and one of our favourite parts of the day! Red Madog played great songs, but with an original twist that made them special. They are not an off-the-shelf wedding band, and so many of our guests said how much they loved the music and how much fun they had. Highly recommended!!
