Rebecca has recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire achieving an MA with distinction in flute performance. She received the Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award, Michael Hirst Award, Trinity College London Scholarship and generous support from The Stapley Trust and Women's Career Foundation. She gained her BMus degree at Newcastle University including a year spent at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. She has been offered a place as a NEXT musician 2019-20 with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, with the opportunity to work with contemporary composers such as Harrison Birtwistle, Rebecca Saunders and Peter Eotvos. Rebecca has appeared all over the UK in prestigious venues as a soloist, orchestral musician and chamber musician. As a contemporary music enthusiast she has been privileged to collaborate in many exciting projects, including: Cohan Collective associated with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Yorke Dance Project and Pavilion Dance South West; performances at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival; performing world and UK premières with the Riot Ensemble; and debuting Jonathan Dove's newly orchestrated opera, Mansfield Park, at the Grange Festival. As a keen orchestral and chamber musician recent highlights include: concerts with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; performing in a project alongside members of the Philharmonia Orchestra; Vivaldi's Piccolo concerto in C with members of London International Sinfonia; Debussy's sonata for flute, viola and harp in BSO's Meet the Music series; and playing at Aurora Festival and Masterclasses in Sweden. In her spare time she enjoys composing and has had works premièred by Royal Northern Sinfonia, Ives Ensemble and composed and performed music for theatre with Ink festival.
