Rebecca Rose's profile picture
Cellist
Stourport-on-Severn
I am a freelance cellist based in the Midlands. I have a wealth of experience in solo, chamber and orchestral performance and session work.

I am a professional cellist based in Worcestershire. I was awarded sholarships to both the Purcell School and the Royal College of music where I studied with awe inspiring teachers Joan Dickson and Steven Doane. I have been lucky enough to have had some fantastic solo performing experiences including playing to HRH Prince of Wales, playing a C minor Vivaldi Concerto at St Martin in the Field accompanied by the London Soloist Orchestra and performed at venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall, St Johns Smith Square, Regent Hall Oxford Street, Buckingham Palace, Buxton Opera House Theatre, Centenary Square, Birmingham as a chamber musician. Further afield venues include Odessa National Academy of Music and in Tel Aviv the Buchmann Mehta School of Music. At present I am juggling a varied musical career with family life. Inspired by my own teachers, I am a committed teacher myself but my passion is still playing and performing as much as I can. I am the principal cellist in The Kidderminster Festival Orchestra, the Estrilda Piano Trio, the Capriccio Quartet, the Cls String quartet, Palmarosa Strings, the Rosebourne Duo, Fordante and regularly deputise for other ensembles in the area too. I am also an experienced session musician. My musical tastes are quite eclectic and I enjoy the challenge of something different!

For our wedding, we wanted modern music plates in cello- Rebecca was the first to respond to our quote request, and quick to send us a repertoire. She also suggested a cello/violin duo might work better for the music pieces we wanted and she was right! It didn’t cost us extra and when we asked for a specific song, Rebecca was more than accommodating with our request for it to be played in a certain style. I thoroughly enjoyed the bits that I was able to hear, and we had fantastic feedback from our guests. I would not hesitate to recommend the Rosebourne Duo! They really helped make our day extra special!

“I recently booked Rebecca to play at my daughter’s wedding. She was punctual, professional and very flexible and willing to adapt to circumstances which changed at the last minute. Her playing is breathtakingly beautiful; she has a rich tone and a wonderful sense of lyricism in her playing. I would recommend Rebecca as a cellist at your event or function.”

“Rebecca Rose joined my quartet that I set up in 2001 two years ago.I can genuinely say I have never had the privilege of playing with such a wonderful player in every way. She plays with such immense depth and musicality and is also technically incredible. She is also a lovely, easy going and amenable person to spend so much time playing with.I feel so fortunate to know her and play with her.”
