Canadian musician Rebecca Leshures enjoys a varied career as an accomplished pianist, accompanist and pedagogue based in London, UK. Miss Leshures holds an MM in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music, a BM in Piano from Westminster Choir College, and an ARCT Performer's Certificate from the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music. She was a finalist in the 2004 Canadian National Music Competition, and has been a prizewinner at many competitions in the USA, including winning first place at the NJMTA Collegiate Division Competition. She performed in Carnegie Hall as a finalist of the 2009 Young Musician's Competition. Eager to explore all aspects of the music industry, Miss Leshures recently completed a five-month marketing internship with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She is director of Bravura Music Ltd and currently teaches piano and theory lessons in Central London, in addition to working as a ballet accompanist at Arts Educational Schools. A sensitive and insightful collaborative pianist, she has held staff accompanist positions at Manhattan School of Music's prestigious Precollege Division and at Westminster Choir College, and has performed frequently in NYC and Princeton as a freelance accompanist. She has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in the UK, Italy and throughout the USA and Canada. An avid pedagogue, Miss Leshures was a faculty member at Bergen Academy of Music and Art and the Piano School of New York, in addition to maintaining her own private studio. From 2012-2014 she immersed herself in the composition of a new work, Okay Cupid the Musical. This project evolved through performances in Manhattan and launched into a full production preview, where Miss Leshures performed as pianist and directed a seven-piece ensemble. The musical was performed in April 2015 in the finalist round of the New Jersey Playwright Competition.
