A vibrant and versatile Jazz duo, Raquels Bells peform a wide selection of traditional Jazz songs, as well as more contemporary tunes rendered in an eclectic and engaging style. Having both achieved 1st Class Honours Degrees in Jazz Studies at Leeds Conservatoire, they have continued to grow and hone their skills as musicians, creating captivating performances and expanding their improvisational capabilities. Sam was awarded the Conservatoire prize and scholarship in the 2014-15 cohort for outstanding results, whilst Nel has firmly established herself on the UK music scene by melding her unique portugese style with modern Jazz. They now both live in London. Raquels Bells have developed a wonderful rapport together, and can perform in either a soft and understated manner or with high intensity, deriving their influences from Swing, Gypsy Jazz, Blues and Latin. They are available to book for weddings, functions, private events, parties, and anything else you can think of! Whatever the occasion you can be sure they will inject a buzz into proceedings.

Raquels Bells were great. They stepped in to replace our jazz duo at the last minute due to illness, dealing with them was very easy and efficient in the lead up and on the day. Everyone at the wedding said how great they sounded - fitting in very much with the vibe while we had canapés and drinks. Would highly recommend.

This was for my dad who has just turned 80. They were perfect, sang requested songs beautifully and last minute requests brilliantly. They are incredibly talented and professional, friendly and sensitive to our particular needs. I highly recommend Raquel's Bells and thank them for a wonderful memorable evening.

My names Lorenzo and I run 89 Social, a wine bar in North London. We had closed for a few months to carry out some work and wanted to re open with a bang! I contacted Sam who was known to me in the area and alongisde his bandmate they were able to provide an evening of music that was traditional and in keeping with the wine bar aesthetic, but they also included modern repertoire and the tunes were lively and fun! I look forward to having them again.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are always able to tailor our shows to the client, and our repertoire traverses a range of genres and styles.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We had the privilege of performing at The Domino club in Leeds for their grand opening, and since then we have performed at various bars and restaurants but we mainly perform at private events now.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We try and capture the essence of the great jazz duos of the past such as Ella and Louis, as well as more contemporary artists like Cyril Aimee and Diego Figueiredo.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We played during an awards ceremony for the Sound Of Silent cinema festival in Chartres, France, where the likes of Kyle Eastwood, and the Pathe foundation were present.

Do you have different line-up options?

We are flexible and being well connected with the London Jazz Scene, can easily adapt :)

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - we either perform acoustically or with microphones attached to our instruments so we can move around freely.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA is included in your quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn please let us know as soon as possible!
