Rachel Murphy is a recent graduate from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a Bachelor of Music Honours Degree.
Born in Glasgow, Rachel began piano lessons at the age of 8, receiving lessons in her family home. In 2007 she decided to further her studies and was accepted to study Piano and Violin at the Royal Scottish Junior Academy. A very natural and gifted young musician, Rachel excelled in her 6 years at the junior academy. With a deep love for music, she accepted her place to study classical piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2013.
Since moving to London, Rachel has flourished as a pianist. Having been involved in many different projects of different styles, she has truly developed into a versatile and accomplished musician who has a love for collaborating and working with others.
Rachel performs regularly in solo and chamber recitals around London, having played in prestigious venues such as Cadogan Hall and Maida Valle Studios. She is also a very passionate accompanist, working with artists from different genres of music. She regularly plays for rehearsals and works with both instrumentalists and singers, performing for concerts, competitions and other events. Rachel has a deep love for Musical Theatre and has a wide knowledge of the repertoire. She is often performing in pit bands, working with singers and as a rehearsal pianist.
Rachel is currently a resident accompanist for many choirs including Halstow Community Choir and In-Deep Choir.
On top of piano, Rachel is also a keen violinist and recently went on tour as a member of National Youth Orchestra of Scotland to China, performing concerts in Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin.
