About Rachel Mercer

Top Classical Crossover Singer in the North West for Weddings and Events. Guaranteed to wow your guests!
Singer
Morecambe
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Rachel trained in Musical Theatre at Hertfordshire University, gaining a degree in Performing Arts. As a student she was fortunate to be picked to sing a solo at the London Palladium in a Variety Show. After graduating Rachel immediately began working for leading UK holiday companies Grand Hotels and Warner Holidays and began training in classical music. She is a lyric soprano and can sing in Latin, Italian, French, German and even a bit of Maori. Rachel has a wide repertoire of music encompassing classical arias, musical theatre and both vintage and contemporary popular hits which is suitable for most wedding ceremonies, receptions and events. She has performed at many prestigious wedding venues including Cathedrals, stately homes and hotels and has become one of the most sought out classical crossover singers in the North West. Rachel is also able to offer advice on song choices and can provide a bespoke service for your event ensuring the entertainment is tailored to your needs - including the option of learning any special song requests. She has a warm bubbly personality and can easily engage with an audience at events and make an audience feel totally at ease. She can be booked as a soloist with backing tracks, or with an accompanist of your choice or she can happily recommend suitable musicians. Rachel sings a selection of classical pieces from well-known operas, religious pieces, musicals and easy listening music during the wedding ceremony/reception. She also covers pop music from the 1930s to the present day and can combine this with classical crossover music for evening events for people who want a mix of music and some lively music. Rachel also works as a vintage singer and has performed at many big 1940s events including East Lancs Railway, Ingleton, Padiham on Parade, Carlisle Castle etc where she can perform a mix of light jazz and swing music and Patriotic War Time Music from the 1940s. Rachel also offers complimentary background music to be played at the start of the evening and in between sets. If you would like additional music to be played after a performance this can be arranged as an extra.

Rachel was absolutely amazing!! We were just a small group for her audience, but everyone loved her, such a angelic voice, and a lovely person to match, polite, well dressed for the occasion and chatty. I really can’t express how amazing this young lady is. I have been telling all my friends and I know everyone who was there to witness Rachel’s beautiful singing will be telling all their families and friends. Rachel was on time as arranged. Thank you so much Rachel , you are a star ⭐️

I have seen Rachel Mercer perform in musicals as well as singing solo. Clarity of voice; emotion; power and passion are the hallmarks of her performance. A born entertainer.
