Rachel Fryer

I live in East Sussex where I am in demand as a soloist, professional accompanist and chamber musician. I trained at the Royal College of Music, gaining a Masters in Performance and have studied and performed in piano masterclasses with tutors including Steven Kovacevich, Bernard Roberts, Howard Shelley, Joanna MacGregor and John Lill. I am the resident piano teacher and pianist at the East Sussex Academy of Music and have performed in many venues including Croydon’s Fairfield Hall and St. John’s Smith Square. I collaborate with musicians including violinists Rebekah Allan, Maeve Jenkinson, Andrew Roberts and cellists Ivana Peranic and Christopher Allan. I play in many chamber groups locally and perform and do education work with Orchestra of Sound and Light and Kidenza. As an accompanist, I am an excellent sight-reader with a very wide and diverse repertoire, especially in string and vocal music. I have a friendly and approachable manner and I am equally happy to accompany professional recitals, choral societies, exams and music festivals and to work with people of all ages and standards. Whilst I do not specialise in jazz or early music I am comfortable with basic lead sheets, improvisation and playing figured bass. Since lockdown I have offered tailored services including online piano teaching, exam preparation in all aspects, practice exams, accompaniments recorded at the speed of your choice. I am also offering tailored presents where I can perform special requests and dedicate them to anyone of your choice. My fee is negotiable depending on what you want.
