Rachel Burnett

Multi-award-winning, singer-songwriter and composer Rachel Burnett is sponsored by the English Arts Council and has performed vocal solos at many prestigious venues throughout the world including Saint Marks basilica, Norte Dame Cathedral and the Royal Albert Hall. Rachel has trained as a singer, composer and saxophonist at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music for the past seven years. She is a classically trained mezzo-soprano, and have had played roles such as ‘Dorotheé’ in Massenet’s ‘Cindrellion’ and ‘Olga’ in Tchaikovskys ‘Eugene Onegin’. She passed her ABRSM singing Diploma with Distinction, and achieved consecutive Distinctions in all of my ABRSM graded exams in Singing and Saxophone grade 1-8.  Rachel as a composer has been double shortlisted in the BBC Young Composer Competition twice, and reached the Category Finals round of the BBC Young Musician of the Year as a Saxophonist. Rachel has performed as a soloist alongside the BBC Philharmonic and Halle orchestra combined, when singing Raymond Brigg’s ‘The Snowman’ at Southport Theatre. She also sang alongside the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra in the Royal Northern Concert Hall to an audience of over 500 people when performing Raymond Brigg’s ‘The Bear’.   Regarding her songwriting abilities, Rachel has won Liverpool Acoustic’s 24 Hour Songwriting competition in 2020 and came second in the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting competition in 2021. She had two songs reach the semi finals of the SAYS 20 Young Songwriting competition. She is currently working on new material for her debut album as well as a multimedia, single act Opera, for performance in 2023. Her most recent release, ‘Lover’ was launched at Leaf on Bold street, and is out on all streaming platforms.
