Pure Sax

We loved having the Pure Sax Quartet play at our wedding, it was everything we wanted and more. They were super accommodating of all of our song choices and we had comments from our guests mentioning how special it was to have that touch, and how good it was. It added a personal touch to our special day and we would recommend to anyone!

Sue & Robin’s Wedding Reception Marshchapel 26th July 2025 Our wedding reception was held in a large garden and we had invited 50 guests. We wanted the music to be played during the reception to be of a high quality (both Sue and I are musicians) and offer a variety of musical genres. The musicians also had to be able to adapt to the vagaries of the British weather! I contacted Brent, who I knew was one of the most experienced musical directors in the area, for his suggestion as to the best ensemble combination to satisfy our requirements. He thought a saxophone quartet would fit the bill nicely, and would see if he could persuade Pure Sax to take the booking. Fortunately for us, the quartet were available for that date and they agreed to come to Marschapel to play for us. We asked Brent if they could play a variety of music, and asked if he could include two of our “special” tunes. That was not a problem as they had a large library of music to choose from. On the day, the weather was typically British and at the start of the reception it was raining! The quartet arrived punctually and agreed to set up indoors to start playing when guests arrived for the welcome drinks. They looked superb, and the shiny lacquer of their instruments complemented their attire. They skilfully moderated their volume so as not to drown out the conversations of the guests, and drew applause after each piece was played. Fortunately, as the guests headed to the marquee for the meal, the rain stopped and the quartet were able to set up in the garden next to the dining guests. They were able to turn the volume up and sounded magnificent! One guest, who was a professional trumpet player, commented on the calibre of the musicians, even suggesting to me that “whatever I’m paying them isn’t enough!” They stayed with us for over 5 hours, and we couldn’t have wished for a better musical accompaniment to our special day.
