Primal Resonance

Primal Resonance is a contemporary didgeridoo and sound project led by James Sibley, exploring rhythm, resonance and the physical experience of sound. Live performances centre around contemporary didgeridoo, combining rhythmic playing, vocal techniques and improvisation with percussion and other unusual instruments. James also performs alongside percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Dave Croughan, bringing cajón, hand percussion and diddley bow into a distinctive, energetic live sound. Alongside performances, Primal Resonance offers interactive didgeridoo workshops for beginners and mixed-ability groups. Sessions introduce the instrument, its cultural roots, fundamental playing techniques and circular breathing, with an emphasis on participation, curiosity and making music together. Primal Resonance is also available for immersive sound journeys, using didgeridoo alongside therapeutic sound instruments to create atmospheric, deeply relaxing listening experiences. Available for festivals, retreats, corporate events, community events, private gatherings and other creative spaces. Each booking can be adapted to suit the audience and setting.
