Piano Trio

The Ballaré Piano trio was formed in the summer of 2016 at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, with all members having played together in various ensembles over the past three years. Since then, they have participated in masterclasses and coaching sessions with Lesley Hatfield, Daniel Tong, Lucy Gould, Benjamin Frith, Madeleine Mitchell, Nicola Thomas, Richard Ormrod and Erdem Misirlioglu. They recently performed at the Gould Piano Trio’s Chamber Music Festival, ‘Twilight of the Tsars’, where they performed Rachmaninoff’s ‘Trio Elegiaque No. 1’. Back in November the Trio was involved for the promotion of the current ‘Russia17’ Festival, taking place in and around South Wales, performing famous Russian pieces for the announcements and press conference held at St David’s Hall and the London Welsh Centre. The Trio enjoy doing outreach work and in September 2016 attended Kingswood Preparatory School in Bath running a series of masterclasses for the students followed by a concert, for children aged 4-11. The Trio’s most recent performances included a chamber music recital at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and a performance for the British Society for Gene and Cell Therapy and a recital at Beulah United Reformed Church this Easter.
