Phil started his musical career on the clarinet at the age of 9 and whilst playing for the county wind band in Nottinghamshire he picked up the baritone sax and hired an alto sax so he could play in a local dance band. After seeing an advert in the local paper he applied for job as a musician with the Royal Air Force and spent 22 fantastic years playing all over the world gaining great experience in the wind band and RAF Squadronaires big band. Phil now works as a freelance woodwind player specialising in saxophone, clarinet and flute undertaking many varied roles including musical theatre, functions, big bands, jazz and classical engagements. He also spends time teaching and has put many students through their ABRSM exams from grade 1-8 though school and home tuition.
