Philip was recently awarded a Masters of Arts at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He completed his under graduate degree in 2016 with an Upper Class 2:1. Philip has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Oxford Philharmonic and Southbank Sinfonia, amongst many others. He has performed at the London Jazz Festival and played at many venues, including 606, The Vortex and Ronnie Scott’s. His recordings have been heard on various radio plays, CDs and albums, including live on BBC One, ITV, Sky, Channel 4 and on BBC Radio 3. A successful chamber musician, the Horizon Trombone Quartet placed 2nd at the British Trombone Society Quartet Competition, in Glasgow in 2017. He is also a four-time winner of the ‘Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Competition’, also coming ‘Highly Commended’ three times. In 2014/15 his brass quintet was awarded the June Emerson Launchpad Prize. As a soloist, Philip was a finalist in the Charlton House Brass Competition in 2017.
