Blurb: I am an enthusiastic and accomplished drummer and musician with over 10 years playing experience (Gigged with some well known names and at large venues.. listed at the bottom). I have a 2:1 degree in commercial music (performance) and hold grade 8 drums. I cover all styles; rock, funk, jazz, latin, reggae, blues. I enjoy playing everything. Please see video/ audio links at the bottom! I play confidently and intuitively (and if necessary, spontaneously) so I am useful when it comes to dep work. I have a very flexible, adaptable technique and good time feel. I'm sensitive to the requirements of the music whilst adding flair and creativity. I enjoy the fun of performing but also recognize that ambition and effort are important ingredients for good music. I have really good gear and my own transport (happy and able to commute anywhere in the UK). I still keep up my piano playing and have a deep understanding of the way music works as far as pitch and harmony are concerned. I started drumming at around fourteen. For around five years I was taught by Ken West at Yamaha Music School in Canterbury. During this time I worked very hard on my technical ability and made rapid progress. Since then I have played countless gigs and shows which has given me solid confidence. In 2012 I completed my degree (2:1) in commercial music at Christchurch University in Broadstairs where I received instrumental tuition from Jason McCluskey, one of Kent's best rock drummers. This course challenged me to develop my overall feel to a much higher level. My musical skills aren't just limited to performance; I tracked, mixed and produced the album 'All Of Me' by Change Canterbury in my self built project recording studio. I have done live sound reinforcement ('sound guy') for SMB Church, Canterbury. Performing Experience: (a couple of these guys have a Wikipedia page!)
