Peter Norris

Bass-baritone Peter Norris is currently a member of the Opera Studio at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. He graduated with Distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the Artist Masters programme and gained an undergraduate degree in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London. He also studied at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Peter has performed with renowned artists and orchestras such as The BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, BBC Singers, The Sixteen and Voces8. He has also toured extensively throughout Europe and North America. Previous roles include Zaretsky in Eugene Onegin with West Green House Opera, Colline in La Bohème with GSMD and cover for Calmon in Dove’s The Little Green Swallow with GSMD Opera School. Scene roles include Don Pasquale, Dr. Miracle (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Mephistofele (Faust), Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Pandolfe (Cendrillon). He has taken part in masterclasses with artists and coaches such as Roderick Williams, Mary Bevan, Louise Alder, Andreas Schmidt and Kamal Khan. Recent solo performances include Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle and Leighton’s Sequence for All Saints. Other solo highlights include Faure Requiem, Durufle Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Bach’s St John Passion, Haydn’s Creation, Mozart Requiem, Chilcott’s Wenceslas and Bach Magnificat. Upcoming solo performances include a set of French Opera Scenes at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki and the role of Don Annibale Pistacchio in Donizetti’s Il Campanello with the Sibelius Academy Opera Studio.
