Classical Bass-Baritone. Graduate from Royal Holloway, University of London

Peter Norris is a recent graduate of Royal Holloway, University of London where he studied Music as well as holding a choral scholarship with the highly renowned Royal Holloway Chapel Choir. He is currently a choral scholar with St Martin-in-the-Fields and Voces8 for 2018/19 and studies with Alex Ashworth. Peter has performed in venues such as Cadogan Hall, St John Smith Square and St Martin-in-the-Fields as well as with orchestras such as the London Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players and The Brandenburg Sinfonia. He has also been part of tours that have visited USA, Canada, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy and Estonia. Peter was a member of Genesis Sixteen for 2017/18, working closely with Harry Christophers and Eamonn Dougan. Before joining Royal Holloway, Peter studied at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Scott Johnson and Julian Tovey. During his time at RCS, Peter performed in the choruses for Sir John in Love, Uhte and Cosi Fan Tutte as well as being part of the highly renowned choral group RCS Voices. Recent solo performances include Schubert’s Die schöne Müllein, Pärt’s Passio as part of the Presteigne Festival 2018 and Haydn’s Creation with Feltham Choral. Other solo highlights include Faure Requiem, Durufle Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Bach’s St John Passion, Mozart Requiem and Bach Magnificat. Upcoming solo work includes a world premiere of Henry McPherson’s song cycle Paper Dreams. In September 2019, Peter will begin his masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
