Of Scottish parentge, I started to play the Pipes aged only 8yrs old and there started a life long passion that holds fast to today. My main Piping tutor and influence on me as a young boy was an Ex Scots Guards Piper (George Brown) who took me under his wing and instilled that old school knowledge and bearing as well as teaching me to a high level. That led me to join the HM Forces - Scots Guards as a 16yr old boy solider and after my years basic training and spell at the Guards Piping School becoming a Piper in the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards. During my time in the Army I played at all the major ceremonial events (military/civilian) inc Trooping the Colour, State Banquets at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, Beating the Retreat, Edinburgh & Berlin Tattoo, many pop concerts inc Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Rod Stewart, various TV shows....after 8yrs service I left the Army and took up a Corporate Career in Managed Sales & Services. My passion only increased, I proceeded to play competitvely with some of the top Pipe Bands in the World (and still do to this day) .... Dan Air Pipe Band, Clan Sutherland PB, Pipes & Drums of the Royal Ulster Constabulary, Los Angels Scots PB, Scottish Power PB, Police Service of Northern Ireland...wining multiple Major Titles in Grades 1 & 2. I currently play with one of the premier Pipe Bands in North America - The Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band regularly attending games in LA, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego in the US and Victoria BC, Canada. Regularly playing with the various US Marine Corps Military Bands whom also attend these events. The experience and Military bearing I can bring to any event is a given, along with a superbly tuned bagpipe... I have a passion and desire to 'do a job properly', I treat people the way I would like to be treated. Over the years I have played at everything from the halftime show on the Eurovision Song Contest to car launches at the Deauville Film Festival plus many festival and folk concerts across Europe... as well as Weddings, Funerals, Burns & St Andrews Society Dinners, Retirement & Masonic dinners to name but a few.... and the odd Hindhu temple dedication. I also do a mean 'Address to the Haggis' if your needing some Haggis in your life ? ;-)

Pete was very professional and friendly to deal with. Communication prior to the performance was excellent and he did all I requested. Pete arrived at the agreed time and we had a lovely chat. Performance was very moving and everyone loved it. This had been a short notice booking for a funeral. Would not hesitate to book again, thanks so much Pete!

Upon First booking Peter to perform at our event, it has been nothing but a pleasure. He made contact almost immediately, arranged to meet and discuss what we required him to do,and on the day could not have done better and added to the success of our days event. Very pleased in every aspect and nothing was to much trouble for him. Thank you Peter.

Peter piped at my Fathers funeral in January this year. As one would expect his demeanor and professionalism shone through on such a sad occasion. Thankyou Peter...

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

A great sounding bagpipe and quality musicianship..... my down to earth attitude and professional demeanor....plus a great sense of humour.

Buckingham Palace, Bleinhem Palace, St James Palace, Windsor Castle, Edinburgh & Berlin Tattoo's, Wembley Stadium, Palladium Theatre London, Trooping the Colour & beating the Retreat on Horseguards London,

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My Piping Tutor - George Brown ex Scots Guards. Alasdair Gillies, Roddy McLeod, Angus MacColl to name a few plus some of the great Pipe Majors, Pipers, Leading Drummers and drummers I have had the privilage to have played with in Pipe Bands ...and still do.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always aim to be flexible with all my bookings, If timings change then just give me a call as soon as you know to discuss.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

N/A to solo piping services.

How much time do you need to set up?

In most cases I'll arrive already dressed ready to go, ideally I need 10/15 minutes to get my pipes set up/tuned. Though depending on the event I can just arrive and start as a surprise as was the requirment for a recent booking. Again let me know any requirements you have.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes....there are 1000's of pipe tunes, too many to list. If it's something new to me and suitable, plus we have enought notice I can learn a specific piece for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes......kilted, pipes tuned and ready to go.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes...with notice and that it's suitable to be played on the pipes.
