* All events and occasions * Wedding ceremony music, including bridal entrance; signing of the register etc... * Drinks reception music * Background/dining music * Northumbrian Smallpipes performance available - popular at weddings and other special services/occasions A pianist since the age of 4, and classically trained with Dr Fanny Waterman (founder of the Leeds International Piano Competition), I'm available to play music from the 40s to the present for any function, particularly events that need a classy background ambience, or for a really special wedding ceremony. Previous corporate clients have included the City of London Police Force, Brasserie Zédel, the University of London and the Royal Automobile Club, as well as numerous bar residencies and private parties. I have a wide repertoire of popular music, and am happy to take any requests (pop or classical) in advance to help make your evening go exactly how you plan. Of course I always try to take requests on the night as well, no matter how strange - It doesn't matter whether it's the Beatles or Bach, Sheeran or Sabbath, Yiruma or Yazz, I'll play anything! Own piano (electric) and amplification provided if necessary.* Can also organise jazz trio/quartet, piano/sax duo, piano/vocal duo, piano/flute duo, piano/guitar duo, according to your preference and budget. I also play the Northumbrian Smallpipes, a popular option for weddings and memorial services. Message for more details. Look forward to hearing from you soon! Peter *not at Central London venues

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Always playing with a smile. I am also an experienced improviser, which comes in handy when walking down the aisle takes longer or shorter than expected - my job is to make sure there are no uncomfortable silences and you're feeling totally confident! Dealing with the more unusual song requests!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have had residencies at several London and Surrey clubs and restaurants, but my favourite was always the Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly. It would be impossible to pick a favourite wedding venue, but I always have a soft spot for Great Fosters in Egham, Surrey.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My absolute favourites are Prince, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Björk, and Nick Drake... but as far as pianists go you can't beat Billy Joel, Elton John, Oscar Peterson, or Vince Guaraldi. And check out Blossom Dearie sometime - lovely player!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Never mind profile; I'm going to be cheesy and say the high point was my own wedding. My wife and I wanted an obscure Prince track for her entrance ("Venus de Milo" - absolutely beautiful!), so I recorded a version specially for her. Soppy, and proud of it!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Just let me know in the run up to the event - it's usually not a problem at all!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Unfortunately as a solo pianist I would have an amplifier designed to play piano through, not a full PA setup.

How much time do you need to set up?

If I'm bringing my own piano, 30 minutes at the absolute most. If the piano is in situ, I can walk in off the street and start tinkling away as soon as I get there! :D

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely - though obviously it's better if it's in tune!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

When it comes to choosing music, it's generally easier on everybody (you included!) if you let me know one or two songs you particularly want, (or particularly *don't* want!). Otherwise, I have a wide repertoire of music that is bound to please all your guests, regardless of taste.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

I am indeed, except for Central London bookings. I bring my own electric piano and amplifier. PAT tested and fully insured.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Absolutely - within a reasonable number! And in the case of a wedding, of course I will gladly learn anything you want to walk in/out to, or for the signing of the register. Wedding procession music is one of my favourite parts of the job!

Wow, what an amazing musician and all round nice guy! Peter made our special day even better. He was easy to book, flexible to work with, had great ideas to share, worked with the event organisers without any trouble and arrived on time. He put a huge smile on my fiancés face by playing her fav songs and chatting to us throughout the event. He has a great voice and great talent for playing a wide repertoire of songs. Couldn't recommend him enough! Thank you Peter :)

In my event organising capacity, I booked Peter Falconer to play at an event we hosted at my company for an external organisation. The event was a drinks and canapé reception in March and we briefed Peter to play both classic and popular music in the background while guests mingled. As free drinks were supplied for several hours the crowd inevitably became increasingly interested in the piano and what started out as background music became a crowd-demanded 'by request' sing-a-long. Peter graciously played ALL of the crowd's requests. He was a huge hit with our guests and as a result the event was highly successful. At another event we ran last night several of our guests were still commenting on how fantastic the piano music was and how it created such an entertaining and unique evening.

Your magical music gave me confidence, waved away any last-second butterflies, and made me glide up the aisle. I can't thank you enough!
